Every 4th of July, I Try to make desserts and pastries that the kids will love as well as the adults.
This is such a festive time and it’s one of the few times of the year that the whole family gets together and enjoys good food good laughs and good company.
I wanted the Tablescape to have a Ralph Lauren looking, summer on Martha’s Vineyard vibe, and chinoiserie along with woven baskets and placemats does just that.
Made with flaky puff pastry, a sweet vanilla cream cheese filling, and fresh strawberries and blueberries, this easy dessert looks like it came from a bakery but requires surprisingly little effort. The golden braided crust, creamy filling, and juicy berries create a beautiful combination of flavors and textures that guests always love.
One of my favorite things about this recipe is how elegant it looks served on a blue and white platter surrounded by hydrangeas and patriotic décor. It feels festive without being overly themed, making it perfect for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, or any summer gathering.
The best part? Most of the ingredients can be picked up during a quick grocery run, and the braid can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before guests arrive.
